Lubricants and sex stimulants

A guide to personal lubricants and sexual stimulants

Lubrication is the most essential (not to mention sensual, smooth and satisfying) sex aid in your toy box. Like with all sex toys, lubrication also comes in a variety of choices to suite (literally) every taste with different options for flavour, texture, colour and stickiness. Despite the huge selection, there are essentially only two types of lubrication we would recommend:

Water-based The term wet-'n-wild has real relevance when it comes to the latest offering in water-based lube. Apart from being super-slippery, sensuous, non-greasy, non-sticky and odourless, it lasts for much longer as some oil-based lubrication, not to mention the fact that it cleans easily. If you're comparing it to silicone lubrication though, it do tend to dry out quicker, especially if you are planning a long sex session. No hurt in applying some more every now and again though. Water-based lubes are made mostly of water, which makes it the perfect slip slider. Although they are all basically the same, the do differ in terms of their texture. Some are thicker and some thinner.

Silicone based Silicone lubes last a long time and never gets absorbed into the skin, which means a bit of spit or water can have to right back into the game. You also don't need to splash out for a bit of wetness a small amount will do and will last you a long time as it will not evaporate like water-based lube may. The only downside (which is well worth the up side) is that silicone requires a fair amount of scrubbing with soap and water to get you and your toys cleaned up. The big NO-NO with silicone-based lube is that it should never be used with your silicone toys. A dab of silicone lube on your favourite new silicone dildo is not a great idea at all silicone is essentially made of tiny glass beads which would scratch when you rub the two together.

Sexual stimulants claim to arouse or increase sexual desire, or libido. A broader definition includes products that improve sexual performance. Maintaining sexual potency and interest in sex itself has always been a major concern for both men and women, given the many potentially deleterious effects of age, stress, and health problems on this facet of our lives. Some of the most ancient plant-based aphrodisiacs, such as ginseng and yohimbine, are still as popular today as in ancient times. Today with modern research combined with ancient knowledge there is a big variety of herbal sexual stimulants for men and for women.
