Condoms
A guide to Condoms
We all (should) know that condoms are the safest form of protection which can both help to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and prevent pregnancy.
Condoms have been around a long time and are probably one of the oldest forms of birth control still in existence today. In fact, illustrations of condoms dating back 3000 years have been found in Egypt. Over the years, condoms have been made out of everything from linen to animal intestines and even tortoise shells (ouch!). In the 1840s, though, vulcanized rubber condoms began to be produced and it wasn't long before condoms took on the moniker "rubbers".
There are no age limitations on buying condoms. Buying a condom no matter how old you are shows that you are taking responsibility for your actions. Family planning and sexual health clinics provide condoms free of charge. Condoms are available to buy from supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations. Vending machines selling condoms are found in toilets at many locations. You can also order then online from different manufacturers and distributors.
But a condom is not just a plain condom. They come in all shapes and sizes. Colours range from grass-green to glow-in-the-dark and you find them in any imaginable flavours from Passionfruit to Pina-Colada. Some condoms are lubricated, and some have a ribbed and studded texture with raised ribs or bumps, to increase sensation for both partners.
So next time you use one, you can ask your partner: Honey, what should I wear tonight?
